Association of The Human resource Managers and Aspirants (ATHMA)
Association of The Human resource Managers and Aspirants (ATHMA) is the only all India body of professional managers engaged in the profession of Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Labour Welfare, and Training & Development in the country. It came into existence on 10th August 2008 as a result of merger of two professional institutions, namely the Indian Institute of Personnel Management (IIPM) established in 1948 in Kolkata and the National Institute of Labour Management (NILM) established in 1950 in Bombay, now Mumbai.
With its National Office at Kolkata, ATHMA has a total membership of about 10,000 spread over 53 Chapters all over the country.

Our Plans
Chennai is considered as Detroit of India and all the industries/establishments have been generating more employment growth. This had necessitated more constructive role for the personnel management in such industries/establishments for maintaining cordial industrial relationship and for the growth of the industries.
Even before the merger of IIPM & ATHMA to form ATHMA in 2008, Chennai was having a chapter of IIPM from mid-1960.
A Historical event took place on 10th August 2008. The Executive Committee and other senior members of Chennai branch took all positive and fruitful initiatives which had resulted in holding the merger conference at Chennai in August 2008. Subsequently, ATHMA had enlarged its various activities within over all code of ethics of ATHMA.
